In-home consultation.

This is the starting point for most room’s transformation. First, together we discuss your specific goals and what you want to accomplish with my affordable interior design services. I focus on your personal style, and do not let my preferences influence the design of your home. I believe that the pieces you have collected through the years are a reflection of your personality and can be creatively arranged to make the most of the space you have.

Before my visit, I recommend you pull photos of rooms you like from decorating magazines and online sites so that I can get a clear idea of the finished look you are going for. As we walk through the rooms you want to change, I’ll offer specific ideas on how to use your own furnishings and accessories in fresh, new ways to meet your goals. I can also guide you with paint color selection, specific ideas including kitchen and bath remodeling advice and specific tips for updating.

The first visit for your residential interior design services begins with an efficient brainstorming session to discuss your ideas and wish list, and then I can create a step-by-step master plan. We can schedule any additional visits then (the first visit usually averages two to three hours).

A typical makeover involves rearranging furniture, re-hanging artwork, and restyling your accessories on bookshelves and tables. Sometimes repainting and reupholstering might be suggested, and we can look at paint color samples together. If new upholstery is recommended we can go together to look at fabrics or I can collect samples for you to look at during our next visit.

After the first visit, I also offer complete decorating services including to-scale floor plans, custom furniture fabrication, custom window treatments, remodeling advice, etc. I can advise on surface selections such as tile and wood flooring, carpeting, counter tops, paint color selection, wallpaper and lighting. I can shop with you (or for you) for surfaces, home furnishings and accessories, area rugs and lighting.

The first consultation hour for my affordable Winston-Salem interior design services is billed at $90. All other hours and services are billed at $70 per hour.
